3. Open text editor such as word document and select the fonts you have installed earlier.

What are other alternatives of typing in Kannada?

Typing Kannada using keyboard can be hard as you have to memorize all the fonts mapping and you need lots of practise to be fluent.

It is even worse on mobile device as you cannot install specific font and also there are no keyboard with any other font mappings.

Thankfully, there are other easier ways of typing Kannada.

1. We recommend English to Kannada Typing.

   For E.g if you type "Kannada bhaseya sahitya itihasavu saviraru varsagalastu vistaravagide" it will be transliterated into "ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸವು ಸಾವಿರಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಷ್ಟು ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾಗಿದೆ".

2. If you prefer translation you can easily translate any English word, sentence or phrase into Kannada by visiting English to Kannada translation page. Here you can first type English sentences or copy and paste previously typed English script. Then on clicking “Translate”, English text will be translated into corresponding Kannada text.
